ALIBABA CAFE & RESTAURANT
A restaurant cum museum I would say. The restaurant is basically themed on "Alibaba and the forty thieves," based on which it holds a 40-seating capacity. The ambience takes one on a trip to Arabia all the way to Persia and back to India to a place called "Bhatkal" located on the coast of Karnataka.
This is one of the finest restaurants found in Bangalore which is bang in the heart of the city located in Frazer town on M.M. road. serving mouthwatering Arabian, Persian and Bhatkali food. No place 2 beat the ambience. Gives u a complete Middle Eastern feel. The "Shaiya Biryani" of the Bhatkali cuisine is simply ultimate! and the Al faham chicken barbeque out of the Arabian cuisine is just regardless and also the Arabian biryani (Kabsa) .
Last but not the least is the Persian cuisine. The chicken Jujeh Kabab is simply different in flavour and is unbeatably juicy.. A must try Restaurant!
Empire Chain of restaurants in Bangalore have the best Kababs in town. Make sure you go there on an empty tummy.. you get awesome Kerala Parathas, Ceylon Parathas, Butter Chicken, Biryani. Service is quick if you order any of the above . Vegetarians may not find much to eat here. Chicken Kababs
Tiger Bay is a speciality resatuarant.. that serves wonderful Seafood....besides the food being good the location is even better. Its bang on MG Road . So after a long day shopping you can treat your tastebuds as well at Tiger Bay . A bit on the pricey side but worth it especially if you want to try out exotic seafood .At Tiger Bay there is not just Thai, continental, and English flavours, but also our very own Goan, Bengali, Parsi, Kerala, and Manglorean delicacies .
None can come to Bangalore and not eat at KOSHY'S . Every Sunday they serve the best Aapam & stew possible. Even if you cant make it for breakfast its open all days for lunch and dinner . The service aint the best in town but the food is excellent..Good Steaks .. TRY THE SMILEYS ..the burgers are good , chicken liver sandwiches .. TIRAMISU (Sinfulll ) .. Liquor is also served ..the list is endless... The actual life of Koshy's is to sit in the non a/c section ... you will encounter all the arty literati crowd of Bangalore there....and ofcourse Mr Prem Koshy himself may happen to pass by just to check if you having a good time..
South India is famous for its special dishes and anyone visiting the South should not miss the South Indian delicacies that are available there. You can try the wonderful Dosas they make or the Idli or even the South Indian Thali. There are lots of roadside cafes serving South Indian food in Bangalore. But if you want to have authentic South Indian cuisine, then I would recommend a restaurant to you. It is TEMPTATIONS in Koramangala. They truly make authentic South Cuisine and you can get practically anything there. Not only that, you can get grilled sandwiches as well.
Savoury as the name suggest has some very yummy Arabic Food .. run by Mid East return Malayalees , this tiny little restaurant is loacte d on Mosque Road . Must haves are definelty the GRILL CHICKEN , SHAWARMA ROLL ( MUTTON /CHICKEN ) , HUMMUS , KABOOS, AND THE JUICES . The best part is when you go thru d menu n you reach the Juice Section .. these guys have gotten reallly innovative..heres a few egs - INTERNET, ROLEX, COMPUTER, SHABAB .. n even wid those weird names each of them are excellent .
Authentic Chinese food is Mainland China. Here you can expect to get all sorts of Chinese cuisine like Hunan and Cantonese. You can also try their Oriental dishes. They really cook well and they have a lot of items in their menu. I like their Hunan Chicken the most. The sauce is very light but believe me, there is no loss of taste
But http://bangalore.hungryzone.com turned out to be a blessing! All I need to do is log in and book a table. It is so easy and convenient that even a busy person can afford to surprise my family with dinner plans! I stay in the outskirts of the city at Sahakarnagar and Bhagini is the closest Andhra joint.
They have many branches but the one is Sahakarnagar is good. Service is friendly and the price is not too high either. I suggest people staying away from the center to log on to Bangalore hungry zone if you want to order food, book a table or even buy drinks. They have a section dedicated to top restaurants in cuisines too!
